Riding instruction for every age and ability - from tiny tots to galloping grannies - with moorland, woodland and coastal hacking on the doorstep. Nervous and novice riders are especially welcome.
Riding, taught properly, in a place built for it
Dean Riding Stables is a small, traditionally stone built, BHS & ABRS approved yard tucked away in the peaceful hamlet of Dean within Exmoor National Park.
We offer riding instruction for all ages and abilities, with advanced options for more experienced riders. We have a selection of horses and ponies to suit most riders and we offer our mix 'n' match - riding instruction and controlled hacking for small groups of beginner and novice riders wanting to ride and have fun together.
With an all-weather surface and a set of coloured show jumps, we offer training and show jumping instruction for competition, taught by our experienced and qualified staff. We supply up-to-date riding hats and offer progressive tests in riding and stable management.
We are open every day, all year round.

Lessons & Mix 'n' Match
30, 45 and 60 minute lessons, group or private, plus our Mix 'n' Match sessions combining arena instruction with a short controlled hack. Weight limit currently 13½ stone.

ABRS progressive tests and training towards BHS Stages 1–3 in horse care and riding, ABRSITT and other ABRS exams - internationally recognised and interlinked with the Pony Club system.
